Indian River State College Vocal Program
The IRSC Vocal Department places a high priority upon the vocal development of all students involved, regardless of their performing strengths. High quality instruction emphasizes proper vocal production, vocal health, and recital experience.
To encourage young performers, IRSC vocalists are required to participate in monthly departmental recitals, as well as formal public recitals each semester which greatly assist vocal development and confidence.
As our schedule permits, we travel off-campus to observe area
professional productions.
The Vocal Department assists in finding students club and church jobs off-campus, and provides on-campus
performance opportunities with a variety of instrumental ensembles (Brass Choir, Woodwind Choir, Chamber Jazz Ensembles, etc.). Many of our singers are recipients of music and theatre scholarships, and many of our members have gone on to careers in teaching, theatre, and a variety of professional/club ventures.
